About Us
Our Story
Academia Preescolar (AP) is a family-owned preschool opened in 2010 by husband and wife pair, Pamela and Azgad. Both are prior elementary school teachers who share a passion for early childhood development, creative expression, language, and social impact. AP is a reflection of those passions and years of work building a magical place where children feel safe to be themselves and explore, fully immersed in the spanish language.

A School for Community
AP is more than our space, our teachers, and our students. It's become a community of families that get to know one another as they share light meals after a presentation, play soccer at a brewery on the weekends, or trot together downtown at Thanksgiving. Our families' shared belief in the importance of what we're doing as a school is what makes our environment so special and unique. And, why many families have sent two, three, or more of their kids to us!
Our Neighbors
When you're sitting quietly with a few children under our big shade tree, it's hard to remember there is so much activity happening just outside our walls on Austin's famous South Congress Ave.
And then, the familar smell of Home Slice Pizza wafts in and one of the kids will look up and say, "Vamos a dar la vuelta a la manzana!" (in english: "Let's go around the block!") . It's time for our afternoon stroller ride, and for a few minutes the children get to experience the vibrant energy that is SoCo, waving "Hola" and "Adios" to smiling passersby and spreading some joy along the way.
Our Team.
We believe it is important for our students to build meaningful, respectful relationships with each other as well as with the adults that support them throughout their preschool journey. It's why we have a small staff of familiar faces providing consistent care day in and day out, at child/teacher ratios well below what is required by the State of Texas.
